Decrepit police posts mars performance
Baitadi, Aug 9 : The police posts, entrusted with the responsibility for ensuring peace and security to the public, are in the sorry state of affairs.
Ironically, the securities posts are not safe enough to deliver their performances in lack of own buildings.
In many areas of the district, security personnel are compelled to perform their jobs from the buildings (posts) with deteriorating condition.
Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Netramani Giri at Baitadi District Police Office shared that it was troublesome to carry out daily works from the mud-made rented houses with leaking roof in rainy season.
Some 19 police posts in the district are still in rented buildings. The police posts based in Barakota, Thaligada, Satabajh, Nagarjun, Khochlek, Gokuleswor Kulau, Shankerpur, Rodidewal, Kusmaudghat, Mahakali, Haldubinayak, Shivalinga and Dharmagha are being operated from the rented buildings, the district police office shared.
In absence of own spacious building, the police personnel here have been compelled to keep detainees with themselves.
