Flood poses threat to17 families
Myagdi : As many as 17 families are facing serious threat due to continuous landslips from the cliff above human settlement at Beni municipality-4, Surkemela village. The disaster has prompted the vulnerable families to seek safe shelter at the homes of relatives and neighbours.
The mudslide from the hill of Beni municipality-3 to human settlement located in the bottom has posed a menace to the families.
Besides, the landslide-triggered flood has initiated eroding the residential area, increasing further risks to the local dwellers.
As many as 17 households are on verge of displacement due to landslide, said Tika Bahadur Rana, a local.
It may be noted that the landslide occurring from Rakhu cliff had buried the human settlement at Surkemela leaving 12 people dead around 44 years ago.
