President to address parliament on Thursday

Kathmandu : The meeting of the Council of Minister today prepared a schedule for President Bidya Devi Bhandari to address the federal parliaments at 4:00 pm on March 29.
This is the first time the President is addressing the federal parliaments after the conduct of the elections.
Minister of State for Communications, Information and Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota, shared information to this regard following the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, today.
Similarly, the government appointed Dr Kundan Aryal as the press advisor of the Prime Minister, while Achyut Mainali as the public relations advisor.
According to the State Minister, double taxation on house renting would be lifted; compensation to the land for Ranijamara Project provided, and the treatment cost provided to those injured in the bomb blasts during the elections and in the violence against women.
Also decided during the meeting was management of diplomatic passport to the coordinator of the coordination committees in provincial government, provincial assembly and district coordination committee and extension of two years’ term to 13 colonel of Nepal Army.
Responding to a media query on the imminent visit of the Prime Minister to India, State Minister Baskota made it clear that no issues were raised about this in the meeting.
