Lawmakers from opposition parties blame govt for not being serious to respond coronavirus

Lawmakers representing opposition parties including the Nepali Congress have sought responses from the government, lambasting its lackadaisical approach to the prevention and control of COVID-19.
In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), NC parliamentarian Gagan Kumar Thapa said that quarantines constructed to help suppress coronavirus under control are not systematic while raised question who will take its responsibility as people staying in quarantines are dying everyday there.
Also the former Minister for Health and Population, Thapa, demanded the government make public the details of spending of public money to control coronavirus and drew government’s attention to bring back Nepalis living at abroad immediately.
Though a decision was made to bring back Nepalis living abroad, dispute has emerged now to use which aircrafts to repatriate them, Thapa further said. He also warned of obstructing the next meeting if the government did not respond to the House to that end. Similarly, Chhabilal Bishwokarma of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) demanded fair investigation into Rupandehi incident that occurred on Monday night and also maximum punishment to the guilty.
Saying five staffs of Gangadevi Poultry Farm located at Mainahawa village of Tilottama municipality-10 in Rupandehi district were murdered, Bishwokarma drew attention of the Home Minister through the Speaker.
He also urged the local administration to pay attention not to allow repeat of such incidents.
Likewise, Surya Narayan Yadav of Socialist Party said that police brought Krishna Yadav of Sunsari under control from Bhantabari without any reason as he had gone there to distribute relief and also meted out mental and physical torture to Yadav by charging false case.
He urged the government to dispense him justice by finding out the fact of the incident
