The lockdown in response to the COVID-19 menace is to be beefed up in Bagmati State on the directive of the Chief Minister Dormani Poudel.
The State Government has decided to completely stop the operation of motorcycles in Hetauda, the State capital, during the lockdown period.
The time for buying essentials has been fixed from 6 am to 9 am. Chief Minister Poudel has issued directives for tightening the lockdown in view of the looming risk of the coronavirus in Hetauda after two COVID-19 infected persons confirmed in Parsa and Rautahat, the two districts in State-2 adjoining the Makawanpur district where the state capital lies.
The decision to tighten the lockdown order has been taken to check the rampant movement of people from these two districts to Makawnpur.
The Chief Minister has also given directives to the bodies concerned to restrict the movement of people from one local level ward to the next and to make arrangements for purchasing foodstuffs at every ward in all the districts of the State.
A meeting of the District Command Post Makawanpur has decided to tighten the lockdown following the Chief Minister’s instruction.
Officiating chief of the State Police Office, Kishor Kumar Dahal, said the lockdown would be made even more stricter in other districts of the State as well.
