A health desk has been brought into operation at Suiya in Katkuyinya, Banke to prevent risks from possible outbreak of coronavirus infection.
Angad Bahadur Shahi, acting chief of district health office, Banke, shared the health desk has started providing health screening service to the people entering to Nepal via India since last Monday.
The desk was set up with essential medicines, medical equipments and infrastructures, he shared. The office is preparing to expand the setup of health desks in other bordering checkpoints as well.
A health desk was already established in Nepal-India border checkpoint, Jamunaha, a month ago. Likewise, a health desk had come into operation at Nepalgunj airport since last week.
Special screening and treatment arrangement has been made for corona suspects at Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital, informed Hospital’s Medical Superintendant Dr Prakash Thapa.
He further shared that hospital has managed five isolation wards keeping high alert measures against possible outbreak of coronavirus. However, no patient has ever visited the hospital for coronavirus infection test.
The rumour of corona threat has taken toll on holi bazaar and other shopping outlets in Nepalgunj, informed Abdulwahid Mansuri, chair of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
