Ambassador Puri inaugurated hospital in Siraha
Kathmandu : Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri today inaugurated Chandra Narayan Yadav Memorial Maternity Hospital in Siraha.
Nepali Congress Central Committee member, Treasurer and Chairperson of Chandra Narayan Memorial Trust Sita Devi Yadav attended the inauguration ceremony, along with political leaders and community people, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The hospital will provide maternity health care services to the people from 50 rural municipalitiesin and around Siraha district. The hospital is being run by Chandra Narayan Yadav Memorial Trust as a non-profit making organisation.
The Government of India had provided Rs 26.90 million for the construction of the hospital. The 25-bed hospital has ultrasound, X-ray, blood bank, emergency, minor OT, ICU, CCU and major OT facilities, according to the release.
The newly built infrastructure will provide improved maternal and child care health services to the people of Siraha and surrounding districts and help reduce the maternal and child mortality rate.
