Kavita Krishnamurthy Musical Evening held to mark Intl Women’s Day
Kathmandu : Noted Indian singing duo Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr L Subramaniam and their team performed here on Friday evening, marking the 109th International Women’s Day.
Krishnamurthy sang her many hits including a popular Nepali song ‘Chhithi aayena, chhithi aayena mero mayaluko…chhithi aayena’ she sang 25 years ago. The audience and the song’s music director and noted music composer and singer Shambhujeet Baskota also sang with her.
Organized by the Indian Women’s Association at the Indian Embassy at Lainchaur, the event was attended by people from various walks of life including Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, chief political advisor to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Bishnu Rimal, foreign affairs advisor Dr Rajan Bhattarai, noted artist Manisha Koirala, lawmakers, Chief of Army Staffs, chief of diplomatic mission, senior ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, former ministers and lawmakers and industrialists and media-persons.
Delivering a welcome speech, the association’s chairperson Namrata Puri said the amounts collected from the musical event would go to social works. (RSS)
