Bodies of three helicopter crash victims found
Bhadrapur : The dead bodies of three people who were among those including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Prasad Adhikari on board the helicopter of Air Dynasty that crashed in Taplejung district today have been found.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Taplejung district, Geeta Kumari Rai, said the helicopter crashed at a pace three hours walking distance from Phungling, the district headquarters. According to her, three burnt bodies were found at the crash site while additional details on the accident are awaited.
The bodies were yet to be identified as they are charred beyond recognition. The crash site is located on the border of Phungling municipality and Phaktanglung rural municipality. A six-member team comprising Minister Adhikari had taken the helicopter flight from Kathmandu at 8 am today towards Chuhandanda of Tehrathum for carrying out a feasibility study of the proposed airport at Chuhandanda.
A police team has already reached the accident site. Yubaraj Dahal, Ang Tshiring Sherpa, Birendra Shrestha and Arjun Ghimire and pilot Prabhakar KC were also on board the ill-fated helicopter. (RSS)
