President Deuba says press freedom should be ensured

Rasuwa : The main opposition, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has opined that the government should not curtail the press freedom. 

Speaking in a programme organized to welcome new comers to the NC, President Deuba, also former Prime Minister, said that all should be united against the government efforts to curtail press freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.  Also speaking on the occasion, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel blamed the government of failing to maintain good governance and lead the nation on the way to prosperity.

Likewise, NC general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala said that the party would be the largest one after ending all kinds of groupism and forging consensus.  Deputy General Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, central member Gagan Thapa among other leaders addressed the programme.  A large number of cadres from different parties had joined the NC in the programme. Phurbu Tamang, coordinator of Naya Shakti also joined the NC. (RSS)
