9,000 saplings distributed for free in Dang
Dang: The Agriculture Development Division (ADD) at Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City has distributed a total of 9,000 saplings of different species of the fruits to the farmers in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City in Dang district.
The ADD office had produced the saplings of lemon, mango, lychee and jackfruit among others across 20 hectare of land and distributed among the farmers by charging them for the transportation cost, according to the ADD’s Distribution Division Chief Tilak Bahadur KC.
Among the saplings, 4,800 were of mango, 1000 of pomegranate, 4500 of lemon, 1800 of lychee, 1000 of jackfruit and 400 of guava. Similarly, the ADO has distributed some 4,000 saplings of banana in the current fiscal year by providing 50 per cent subsidy on each sapling. Those farmers planting over 25 banana saplings receive banana saplings for free, according to the Fruit Farming plan of the ADD.
The ADD office aims to distribute a total of 23,200 saplings of banana to be planted in the 100 hectare of land suitable for fruit farming in the Sub-Metropolitan city.
